2017 Bigger and Better NT Home Improvement Scheme

The new Labour government have listened to the community and yesterday announced it will bring back the NT Home Improvement Scheme after the success seen for small businesses and home owners in 2016. The new scheme has an added value of up to $4000 and home owners who have accessed the scheme previously are also eligible to receive up to $2000.
Under the new scheme up to 50% can be used towards the cost of goods and materials (previously only 30%). Also an additional $15 million budget has been set in addition to the $11 million already spent on the previous scheme.
Home owner applications commence on the 20th of February and the scheme is set to run until the 31st of December 2017 or until funding is exhausted. With the success of the previous scheme, seeing $11 million used in only 4 months, the likelihood that this will reach the 31st of December is not high. So be sure to get those jobs you have been putting off into action and get your local tradie in to help you take advantage of the new scheme.

The first sign many people notice is a musty, mouldy odour. If you do a thorough clean of your office or commercial space and the smell is still there, it’s time to check your vents. Getting your Air Conditioning Contractor to remove the covers and take a quick look inside may confirm the issue, especially if you see mould or notice a stronger smell in that area. If the scent is stronger, but you can’t see the mould, then the growth is possibly further in the ducts. Another sign of a mould issue is the sudden onset of allergy symptoms. If the symptoms continue they can do a quick check of your vents and a visual check of your ducts. Inspecting your duct work can also provide clues to a possible mould problem.
